Business Administrator

RDK Partners sets up and operates U.S. subsidiaries of foreign companies and investors. One of the companies we manage is actively looking to hire one business administrator.

COMPANY

Sulsung Foods is a New York City-based startup operating in the space of agriculture, food, retail and e-commerce. We are currently raising Black Angus in Oregon. With our vision to deliver direct-to-consumers, we are working to start prepared meal production in Brooklyn, and sell through our new website and our own retail stores in the city. We also export storied Western food brands to Korea, eventually more countries in Asia.

The company’s financial backer is a Korean business group spanning cattle raising, wholesale, retail, e-commerce, packaged food production, restaurants, and meat processing that makes ham and meat products.

Sulsung Foods is independently run by the U.S. team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Business Administrator (or B.A.) will play a true Swiss-Army knife role. You will learn everything from the senior management and can accelerate your career to executive level or even start your own company in the future. You will be exposed to many critical decision makings as the company is starting new things.

Main responsibilities are:

  • Export coordination: Once a target brand is identified, B.A. will contact the producer, purchase samples, collect necessary customs documents, place orders, arrange a pick-up with our forwarding company, and follow up with involved parties. (No experience is required as this is very easy to master)

  • Business administration: B.A. will support bookkeeping, review P&L, manage job posting, control documents including contracts and invoices.

  • Project management: B.A. will also be involved in new product launch, e-commerce via Shopify, new retail shop opening, working with designers and monitor multiple work processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Attention to details

  • Desire to learn

  • Willingness to create and improve process

  • Comfortable to determine what must be perfect and what could be

  • Project management skills

  • 2-5 years of previous work experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (min)

  • Proficiency in Korean language is desirable

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Starting salary: $45,000-$65,000/year

  • Paid time off (including sick days): 12 days in the first year

WORK ENVIRONMENT

We share space with innovative startups and professionals working on diverse products and services - everything from handbag producers to food magazine to corporate bowling competition arrangement. JOB DESCRIPTION

Here you will be a part of a big growth as the company is to undertake new ventures. This is an ideal place for someone interested in starting a new organization whether it’s for-profit or not-for-profit; learning how to formulate and execute strategies; and applying your peer group’s preferences to small scale marketing campaign.

Under supervision, you would be tasked with following:

  • Market research: You will observe a lot of people. You actually go to places where our target customers spend, watch their consumption behaviors, and recommend one or two focus group participants who will be paid. At the benchmarked venues, you can engage in conversation with customers to learn demand for certain types of prepared meals we are going to launch. You will also visit potential retail spaces with a more senior person and a real estate broker to find the best suitable stores to open.

  • Marketing: You will share your inputs on social media marketing budget, and deliver peer groups opinions.

The intern is expected for 8-10 hours per week.

An ideal candidate must show his/her willingness to gain hands-on experience on strategy, execution and building a company. People with interests in marketing, job creation, logistics, demographics, business, retail, food and beverage, promoting healthful diets, learning more about New Yorkers are strongly encouraged to apply.
